The Rotary Club of Coimbatore West

is proud to organize its flagship program, "Bigbang," an innovation competition designed for pre-university students aged 12 to 17. This exciting initiative provides a platform for young minds to showcase their innovative ideas that address real-world problems and contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

"Bigbang" features a distinguished panel of jurors comprising eminent scientists, technologists, and experts from academia, industry, and government organizations. These esteemed professionals will evaluate the projects based on their creativity, impact, and feasibility.

Our CHIEF GUEST

Air Cmde Ajay Kunnath

Air Cmde Ajay Kunnath was commissioned into the IAF on 06 Apr 93. He was born in Chennai and did his schooling and engineering in Bengaluru. He is an aluminus of Sir M Vishveswarayya Institute of Technology Bengaluru and graduated with a BE in Electronics. In his career spanning 32 years, the Air Officer has held prestigious appointments including Commanding a major Communication hub as a Group Captain as well as the frontline Network Operations Centre of the Indian Air Force as an Air Cmde. He has a specialisation in Missile Systems as well as Terrestrial & Satellite Communication Systems. He also has distinguished himself in the instructional sphere by being a Directing Staff at the premier Defence Services Staff College for three years. He is a decorated Officer having been decorated by the President by receiving the Vishisht Seva Medal and has also been commended thrice by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Officer Commanding in Chief as well as the Chief of the Integrated Defence Staff. He is presently tenanting an important assignment in the field of Communications at Air HQ.

"Bigbang"

Rules for participation:

  • "Bigbang" welcomes teams of up to 4 members, aged 12 to 17 years, to participate in the competition. (Proof of age, such as a bonafide letter from school or birth certificate, must be submitted during the final registration)
  • Only registered team members will receive certificates, and mentors' names must be provided at registration.
  • Once a team submits their project, no changes to team members or mentors can be made.
  • Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited.
  • Each team is responsible for maintaining cooperation and teamwork throughout the competition.
  • The projects will be selected to be displayed during the finale based on the recommendation by the scientific review committee.
  • The winners will be selected based on the evaluation at the finale by the eminent jury.

***The projects can be a software solution or hardware integrated.
